San Pedro, CA – Laura Richardson’s campaign for State Assembly is proud to announce the endorsement and support of one of California’s most influential Members of the State Legislature, Assemblywoman Blanca Rubio.

A dedicated public servant, Blanca Rubio first worked as a teacher for 16 years, and now as an Assemblywoman since 2016, Rubio has authored an impressive 18 measures that have been signed into law, reflecting her commitment to addressing crucial issues facing our neighboring communities.

Assemblywoman Rubio's legislative accomplishments span a wide array of vital areas, including supporting victims of domestic violence, advocating for children within the foster care system, ensuring proper support for our youngest students, and enhancing public safety by preventing firearms from falling into the wrong hands.

Laura Richardson won the March 5th Primary by over 3,246 votes, reflecting 6.4% more than her distant second place opponent, as the November General Election approaches.

LAURA RICHARDSON’S ABBREVIATED BIO

 
Richardson was born in Los Angeles to bi-racial parents and is a longtime resident of San Pedro. She was raised by a single mother after her parents divorced when she was two. Her mother was a member of the Teamsters and remains a retiree today. Laura graduated with a bachelor's degree in political science from the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) and earned her MBA from the University of Southern California's (USC) Marshall School of Business.

Richardson has served this district as a Councilwoman, Assemblymember and Congressmember. She is the only candidate prepared to lead on day one.

Senate District 35 includes the Los Angeles County communities of Carson, Compton, Gardena, Harbor Gateway, Hawthorne, Inglewood, Lawndale, San Pedro, Westchester, Wilmington, Westchester, Watts, and unincorporated communities of East and West Rancho Dominguez, Lennox, West Athens, Westmont, and Willowbrook.
